Overview
Blink sets a new benchmark for lasting ergonomic performance in touchdown spaces – ideal for the pace and flexibility of hybrid work.
Blink delivers comfort without complexity: the support you need, in a light, adaptable form that fits any task or space.
The Blink Chair’s visually simple outward form is testament to years of dedicated development. The chair builds on the decades of experience we have designing products that combine engineering materials, ergonomic sensitivity and sustainable principles.
Blink is a work chair distilled down to its essential components. Each of these components has gone through a rigorous design process to fine-tune the balance between comfort, environmental performance and aesthetic harmony.
The result is a deceptively simple chair that delivers a remarkable amount of comfort.
Discover
Casual office seating prioritizes style over sustained comfort, and users rarely adjust their chairs when moving between spaces.
We’ve also found from video observation that people constantly adjust their posture while working and engaging with others, spending about half their time in a forward-leaning posture – a posture that many chairs don’t properly support, leading to negative health effects like restricted blood flow through the legs.
In partnership with Teknion, we saw an opportunity to develop a chair that can auto calibrate to each person the moment they sit – no knobs, no setup – while also reflecting the warmer aesthetic of today’s hybrid workplaces and continuing to progress our shared environmental design philosophy.
Design
Comfort without complexity
Four key elements form the basis of the chair’s user performance – core to this is the Keel mechanism. The Keel mechanism uses your bodyweight as a natural counterbalance, auto calibrating the required support the instant you sit.
The Keel is crowned by a flexible, breathable seat shell. The shell is moulded as a single piece with over a thousand individual perforations through it. The arrangement of these perforations creates a matrix of springs to sit against. Each spring flexes dynamically, allowing the surface of the shell to mould to your body and its movements.
The flexible shell paired with the Keel mechanism provides personalized comfort and brings the ability to make micro and macro adjustments to your posture, effortlessly.
Sustainable by design
Environmental impact was considered in each design decision. We distilled the chair down to its most essential components, and we made a conscious decision to limit our palette of materials. We also conducted rigorous testing and analysis to ensure the material used in each part had a clear purpose – to provide strength, longevity and to enhance comfort.
BIFMA testing throughout the design process ensures that the Blink Chair exceeds commercial furniture durability standards.
We’ve gone beyond applying good materials to the design. Each material has been used to its full potential – the design and materiality are fully intertwined.
Refined details
We led with comfort and sustainability, while maintaining a clear focus on making every part as beautiful as it is functional. No detail is without purpose – and the result is an aesthetic that’s inherently tied to how the chair works.
From a distance the Blink Chair presents a clean, minimal form. Up close, thoughtful details emerge: the Keel mechanism grounds the chair; precision perforations through the seat shell create visual lightness; the addition of upholstery introduces texture and color; and optional arms – fixed or height‑adjustable – tuck neatly beneath the shell, each with their own distinct character.
Features
Flexible seat shell
Precision formed perforations create an auxetic pattern – transforming the one-piece seat shell into an interconnected matrix of springs that each flex independently, allowing the whole shell to seamlessly conform to every twist and posture.
Auto levelling Keel mechanism
The Keel mechanism features a hidden system of gears and springs that use your body weight as a live counterbalance, automatically calibrating the support provided the moment you sit. This means there are no manual controls to break your flow – the chair simply moves with your body, following your lead.
Fluid range of motion
The Keel mechanism delivers 8° forward rock and 8° rearward rock. Extending beyond that, the shell and flexing support allow the chair to form to your body, helping to unlock more movement and eliminate pressure points. Blink responds to every movement you make, supporting you seamlessly from the most forward leaning posture to the deepest recline and stretch.
Optional arms
Choose fixed height or height adjustable arms, each topped with soft touch pads to create a comfortable surface at and away from the desk. Pads can be removed and replaced to extend the life of the arm, and all components separate cleanly for efficient recycling.

Optional upholstery
Seat and seat back upholsteries bring a new layer of comfort and character to the Blink Chair. Mechanical fasteners are used to assemble the upholsteries – no glue involved – which means they can be serviced, replaced and recycled with minimal impact.
Expansive color palette
Each of the 8 color options in the range is applied across the whole chair to create a calm and cohesive look, from the ground up.
